1.1 Color Fundamentals
This module looks to refresh and advance your color theory knowledge, reviewing and analyzing the importance of basic as well as complex color concepts. These concepts include: optics and light, complex and simulations color contrast, color blindness and color vision, harmonies and disharmonies and color interplay as some of the central color notions that make up the foundational knowledge that anyone working with color must have. This module serves as the stepping-stone on which more complex color knowledge can be built. Classes run approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hrs.

1.2 Color Psychology
The psychology behind color preferences and associations has attracted quite a bit of research and practitioner attention over the years. Research looked to understand why people are more relaxed in green rooms as well as how it is that weight lifters are at their best in a blue gym. Brand affinity and differentiation is also connected with color-emotion associations, as color seems to carry a strong emotional reaction. This module acquaints you with the volume of research in the area, discussing universal and individual aspects of color psychology and their implications to color strategy and design decisions. 1.3 Color Forecasting Theory
As the economic climate becomes increasingly more challenging, being able to forecast colors that consumers are looking for is even more important. Color forecasting is both an art and science; this course will explore both sides of the forecasting process and different forecasting models. Topics covered will include a review of color forecasting history, the challenges associated with forecasting, the various methodologies used by forecasters and the use of forecast in industry. This module’s take-away will help redefine how you approach and utilize color forecasts in an effective manner.Classes run approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hrs.

2.1 Color in Context
Making evidence-based color decisions requires much more than creative intuition. In this increasingly global world, understanding the role that culture and commercial context play in color design decisions is critical to the successful introduction of products and offerings. Topics covered will include a review of color in culture (within multiple geographies), color in context (product, brand or built environment) and color in industry (effective color palettes). Reviewing real-life examples, this module offers the benefit of acquiring knowledge of key color design consideration as well as addressing how these lessons can be applied at work.Classes run approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hrs.

2.2 Color Branding
In today’s business environment, color becomes a critical component in creating memorable presence of brands. Illustrated through case-studies examples and best practices, issues like visual identities, the impact of changing technology and the going-to-market via virtual distribution channels will be discussed. Sharing expertise and using the vocabulary of color to communicate emotionally inspiring brand story, this module will re-establish and further advance your visual color understanding and tools and provide frameworks by which you can assess as well as improve branding through color.Classes run approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hrs.

2.3 Color Forecasting Application
Applying color forecasting to the design of products brands and environments has often been a challenge for designers. This module is designed to advance your ability to work as a color forecaster and/or utilize others’ color forecasts, improve your color forecasting processes and validate color forecasts. A comprehensive color forecasting methodology, that can be applied immediately at work, will also be provided. Classes run approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hrs.
